I first wanted to get the bike going as designed - or try to - and I was simply running all diagnostics by the numbers on an unknown and derelict bike that had not run for years. At that point there wasn't any backpressure from full float bowls to swith off the pump at the relay. The only time I hear the pump is when I bypass the relay by shorting (jumping) the black and black/blue terminals at the relay even with the dry float bowls from the rebuild. ![]() If you don't hear the pump for two sec after turning on the ignition switch and not starting the bike then proceed with the diagnostics which I described in first posting. and Clymer's manuals, Clymer's states the fuel pump relay has a 2 second timer function which is initialized at ignition switch turn on and runs the pump 2 sec to fill float bowls and then turns off. With dry carbs and wet tank, the ignition was turned on and engine not started. All were run after carb rebuild and reassembly. all diagnostics were run with ignition switch and kill switch set power on. Oops, sorry about incomplete information in first posting.
